Shelter Services: Mercy House can house up to 17 families in our apartments. We assist families with food, clothing, and a rent free apartment while they secure jobs and work towards self-sufficiency. Mercy House also provides an after-school program for school-aged children (and tutoring help when needed). We have an on site home daycare to assist working parents with childcare, as space is available. We provide food for residents and former residents through our food pantry. To help with transportation, residents may qualify for the Vehicles for Change program, which assists residents with securing reliable vehicles at an affordable price. Each resident family has a custom tailored plan to move them towards self-sufficiency.
Aftercare and Transitional Housing: When clients leave Mercy House after completing the program, they have the option of signing up for the Safe-at-Home program. Mercy House continues to follow up with former resident families and assist them in their journey to self-sufficiency. Mercy House also has several transitional housing units available for up to a year.
Rental and Mortgage Assistance for the Community: Through government grants, Mercy House can assist people in the community with rent or mortgage payments. There are two programs designed to pay rent and other expenses temporarily while a family experiences monetary loss due to the economy, or an unavoidable crisis of a temporary nature. Candidates must demonstrate self-sufficiency before the crisis, and an ability to resolve the financial situation after temporary assistance has been provided.
